About

flickollect is a modern system for cataloging and analyzing film collections, built for collectors who need a flexible, visual, and powerful tool for working with their archives.

Background

Over the years, many desktop tools for managing film collections have become outdated, giving way to online services with limited functionality, social frills, and rigid data-display templates.

Collectors still need a tool that combines:

  • convenient data storage;
  • deep customization of information;
  • expressive visual design of movie pages;
  • modern analytics;
  • support for images and detailed people data.

The lack of a focused solution led to the creation of flickollect — a product dedicated to the needs of collectors.

1. Flexible data model

At the core is a customizable structure that stores both basic and advanced information about films and people — from titles and dates to image galleries and character appearances.

It supports:

  • films;
  • people;
  • photos and visual materials;
  • roles and characters;
  • localized titles;
  • additional user‑defined fields.

Special attention is paid to visual content: the system stores not just actor photos, but character looks from specific films, resulting in a more precise, cinematic gallery.

2. Visualization and film pages

flickollect follows a “single‑screen” principle: key information about a film is presented on one page without unnecessary navigation.

It includes:

  • large poster and still galleries;
  • user‑defined visual backgrounds;
  • tabs for managing information sections;
  • image carousels;
  • responsive layouts for different devices.

Each film page can have its own visual style to reflect the unique identity of the work.

3. Collection analytics

The service includes Insights — a powerful analytics module that replaces external spreadsheets and lets you build selections, filters, and sorts directly from your collection data.

Insights supports:

  • flexible filtering;
  • multi‑parameter sorting;
  • quick navigation between films within a selection;
  • export to Excel;
  • viewing the collection from multiple analytical angles.

This allows you to deeply explore your collection and discover new connections between films, people, and visual materials.

YouTube

In addition to the textual description of the project, short videos are published that demonstrate the process of working with a collection:
adding films, filling the database, working with visual materials, and building film pages.

The videos do not duplicate the site interface and are not promotional in nature — their purpose is to show the workflow and the logic behind forming film pages using practical examples.
